Hunters Creek Middle School is committed to continue utilizing PBIS as a school-wide program which includes proactive strategies for defining, teaching, and acknowledging appropriate behaviors.  Positive student behavior will be acknowledged with signatures in the student’s agenda.  Students may earn signatures from school staff by demonstrating good behavior that follow the PAWS guidelines. These guidelines are:

PAWS - P: Proactive, A: Attitude, W: Work-ethic, S: Self-Discipline

The signatures may be used for school store items and other campus privileges.   Additionally, students can pay for admission to school dances and sporting events using the signatures. Students will also be invited to attend special celebrations throughout the school year to celebrate positive behavior.

The document below depicts the different color zones. All movement through the color zones will be tracked by the teachers through Educator's Handbook. If a student is sent to the Red Zone, he/she will reflect on his/her behaviors and also be assigned after school detention (ASD) for the next Tuesday. The referring teacher will contact the parent at least 24 hours prior to the student serving ASD.
